Turkey’s imports, exports up again in June
In terms of trade volumes, Turkey’s exports were up by 2.2% in June versus a fall of 5.7% in import volumes with respect to June, 2016.
The country’s seasonally and calendar adjusted exports increased by 4% to USD155.4 billion whereas imports were down by 5.3% in June to USD138.1 billion compared with May. The calendar adjusted export volume index increased by 11.3% to USD157 billion in June 2017 on a yearly basis. The calendar adjusted import volume index decreased by 2.2% though to USD144.7 billion in June 2017.
In the second quarter of 2017, Turkey’s exports slid 0.6% compared to the same period of 2016. Imports, however, increased 5.4% in Q2 year over year.
