Turkey’s industrial output flat in Nov m-o-m

According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute, Turkey’s industrial production remained flat in November on the month. In the sub sectors, the index of manufacturing posted a monthly decrease of 0.2%. Electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply index rose by 1.5% from a month earlier while mining and quarrying index was down by 0.3% on the month in November.

On a yearly basis, calendar adjusted industrial production was up by 2.7% in November. The manufacturing index increased by 2.1%, the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply index rose by 7.8% and the mining and quarrying index was up by 1.8% in November from a year earlier.

Among the main industrial groupings (MIGs), non-durable consumer goods posted the highest increase by 2.6% in November month on month.

In the sub sectors, the highest monthly rise was reported for repair and installation of machinery and equipment, which increased by 5.7% from a month earlier while the highest drop was reported in manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations and manufacture of leather and related products by 6.7% on the month.
