Turkey’s new home sales increase in July

According to data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey’s home sales increased on the year in July. Home sales increased 13.5% to 96,589 units in July compared with the same period of the previous year. Among house sales in July, Istanbul had the highest share at 17.8% of house sales at 17,182 units, followed by Ankara (11.1%) and Izmir (6%). The smallest number of home sales, meanwhile, was recorded in Hakkari with 14 units, followed by 16 units in Ardahan and 33 in Sirnak.

New home sales held a 45.2% share of Turkey’s total house sales in July with 43,623 units, up 10.8% from the same period of 2014. Istanbul recorded the highest number of new home sales with 7,591 units, followed by 4,294 new sales in Ankara and 2,234 in Izmir.
