Turkey’s road motor vehicle registrations fall 0.7% in June

According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the number of road motor vehicles registered to traffic reached a total of 20,559,243 units in June, with 115,153 new road motor vehicle registrations. The number of road motor vehicles registrations fell 0.7% on the month in June. On a yearly basis, however, road motor vehicle registrations climbed 27.7% compared with the same month of 2015.
The data showed that cars accounted for the highest percentage of new vehicles at 64.2% with 73,966 units, followed by motorcycles (14%), small trucks (13%), tractors (5%) and minibuses, buses, trucks and special purpose vehicles (3.8%).
In the January-June period, meanwhile, the number of road motor vehicles registered to traffic in Turkey increased by 564,771 units.
