Turkey’s road motor vehicle registrations plunge 38.6% in Feb

According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the number of road motor vehicles registered to traffic reached a total of 20,159,183 units in February, with 68,178 new road motor vehicle registrations. The number of road motor vehicles registrations declined 38.6% on the month in February. On a yearly basis, however, road motor vehicle registrations edged up 0.8% compared with the same month of 2015.

The data showed that cars accounted for the highest percentage of new vehicles at 53.1%, followed by small trucks (16.6%), motorcycles (10.9%), tractors (7.2%) and minibuses, buses, trucks and special purpose vehicles (7.8%).

Meanwhile, in the January-February period, the number of road motor vehicles registered to traffic in Turkey increased by 164,711 units.
