Turkey’s vehicle registrations increase in Jan

According to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the number of road motor vehicles registered to traffic reached a total of 21,211,701 units in January, with 128,648 new road motor vehicle registrations. The number of road motor vehicles registrations increased by 26.9% on the month in January. On a yearly basis, road motor vehicle registrations were also up by 15.9% compared with the same month of 2016.
The data showed that within 128,648 new registrations in January, cars accounted for the highest percentage of total vehicles at 65.8%, followed by small trucks (22.3%), motorcycles (4.2%) and tractors (3.3%). Trucks, buses, minibuses and special purpose vehicles constituted 4.4% of total vehicles.
