Türkiye launches safeguard measures investigation on polyester fibre imports
After the implementation of safeguard measures was initiated in 2021, imports increased again as of 2022, the preliminary examination showed. In the first 6 months of 2023, it has been observed that the ratio of imports to domestic production increased and there have been deteriorations in the employment indicator.
The current safeguard measures will be reviewed in order to determine whether they are still necessary to prevent or eliminate serious damage, and to review the adaptation of domestic producers with market conditions.
The investigation is expected to be completed within 9 months. If necessary, this period can be extended up to 6 months.
