The US Congress announced on Sunday that they agreed on a $900 billion COVID-19 relief package, the first new aid measures after long-delayed talks since April. This package also marks the second-largest stimulus bill in US history, following the $2.2 trillion bill approved in March.

According to media reports, the relief package includes $600 direct payments to most Americans and would establish a temporary $300 per week supplemental jobless benefits.

Plus, $300 billion will be allocated for small businesses, $25 billion for rent assistance, $30 billion for vaccine distribution, and $45 billion for the transportation industry.

The package is expected to be submitted for the signature of US President Donald Trump after being approved by the House of Representatives and the Senate later on Monday.
