US Enterprise Products begins ethane exports from Houston

According to media reports, US Enterprise Products Partners began ethane exports from the company’s Morgan’s Point terminal at Houston Ship Channel. The first shipment of 265,000 barrels of ethane is headed to INEOS’ Rafnes facility in Norway. The Morgan’s Point terminal has a design loading capacity of 10,000 barrels per hour.
Enterprise supplies ethane for the new terminal mostly from its natural gas liquids processing and storage complex in Mont Belvieu which is also connected to ethane production from the Marcellus and Utica Shale formations. The company exports much of its ethane supplies to Europe and Asia.
