The new facility will boost the company’s total production capacity of VCM by 580,000 tons/year, PVC by 380,000 tons/year and caustic soda by 390,000 tons/year.
Once the construction of the project is completed by the end of 2023, Shintech’s total production capacity will be raised to 3.62 million tons/year of PVC, 2.95 million tons/year of VCM and 1.95 million tons/year of caustic soda.
In the meantime, the company has another PVC expansion project ongoing in Plaquemine, Louisiana, which was first announced in July 2018. The $1.49 billion project’s start-up date has recently been postponed to the end of Q1 2021, the company added in the press release.
