US factory orders fall in October

According to data released by US Commerce Department on December 5, factory orders in the US fell for a third consecutive month in October. The country’s factory orders retreated 0.7% in October after posting a decrease of 0.5% in September. Initial estimates called for factory orders to stabilize in October following a 0.6% decrease in the prior month, according to a survey conducted by Reuters.

Factory orders for durable goods rose 0.3% in October when compared to a 0.4% gain posted in the previous month while orders for non-defense capital goods excluding aircraft declined 1.6% in October after posting a decrease of 1.3% in September.
