According to media sources, US shale drillers are planning to increase their production despite decreasing oil prices. Several US shale drilling companies, including Devon Energy Corp., Continental Resources Inc. and EOG Resources Inc. are reportedly planning to increase output at their prime properties and these companies called on OPEC nations to lower production if they want to offset the decreases in global oil prices.

Sources added that more US shale oil production is slated to start up either this year or the first half of 2015, with one analyst commenting that any shift in capacity would take at least several months to put into effect.
