Upcoming PVC shutdowns in Asia

According to market sources, three Asian PVC producers are planning to shut their plants for maintenance in the September- October period. Accordingly, China’s Mahatma Xinjiang Energy plans to shut its PVC plant in Xinjiang province for a turnaround on September 5. The plant is able to produce 300,000 tons/year of PVC.

South Korea’s LG Chemical is planning to shut its 220,000 tons/year PVC plant in Daesan in October for a scheduled maintenance. The planned maintenance is expected to last around three weeks.

Meanwhile, India’s Reliance is also reportedly considering suspending production at its PVC plant in Hazira for maintenance in October. The plant has a production capacity of 350,000 tons/year while it is expected to be offline for around 10 days.
