According to media reports, China’s Chengdu Huarong Chemical and Leshan Yongxiang Chemical are planning to shut their PVC plants for maintenance. Chengdu Huarong reportedly will halt production at its acetylene-based PVC plant in Sichuan Province in late January for maintenance. The plant has a production capacity of 140,000 tons/year while the company is currently operating the plant at 50% capacity.
Meanwhile, Leshan Yongxiang Chemical also plans to shut its acetylene-based PVC plant in Sichuan Province at the beginning of February for a turnaround. The producer is now running the 100,000 tons/year plant at around 90% capacity.
Both producers are expected to resume production at their PVC plants after the Chinese New Year holidays.
