Vietnamese buyer receives April PE prices from Mid-Eastern producers

A buyer in Vietnam reported that they received new April PE prices from two different Middle Eastern suppliers. The buyer stated that one of their regular Middle Eastern suppliers offered their PE cargoes at $1300/ton for HDPE film and at $1280-1290/ton for LLDPE film, both on a CIF Vietnam, cash basis. The producer’s prices are up $80/ton for HDPE and $70/ton for LLDPE.
According to him, a second Middle Eastern source offered LLDPE film with $120-130/ton hikes from the most recent offers reported from the producer at $1330/ton with the same terms. “We are not sure whether or not to buy as shipments may be delayed due to the recent conflict in Yemen. Hence, we are planning to make purchases from nearby sources.”
