Williams sells its share in Geismar olefins plant

According to a release on the company’s website, Williams Partners L.P. finalized the sale of its whole share of 88.5% in Geismar Olefins Facility to the Canadian firm NOVA Chemicals for $2.1 billion.
This sale is a part of the company’s target to focus more on its natural gas-based business strategy.
In addition to this transaction, Williams Partners’ subsidiaries also made agreements with NOVA Chemical in order to supply feedstock and provide transportation for the Geismar olefins plant by means of ethane pipeline system of Williams Partners in the Gulf Coast.
