EU imposes definitive ADD on S-PVC imports from Egypt and US
The European Union had previously announced provisional duties on July 11 2024 due to evidence of dumping by exporters of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) from Egypt and the United States of America at unfairly low prices, causing material injury to the European Union industry.
Accordingly, Egypt’s EPC and TCI Sanmar are now subjected to definitive duties of 100.1% and 74.2%, respectively while duties of 100.1% are imposed to all other companies from Egypt.
When it comes to US producers, Formosa Plastics Corporation will be subject to a duty of 71.2%, up by 0.9% when compared to the provisional duty of 70.3%. Likewise, Oxy Vinyls and Shintech cargos will both be subjected to an antidumping duty of 62.3%, slightly down from the 63.1% duty revealed in July. Westlake will face a duty of 58%, unchanged from the July provision. Meanwhile, all other US companies will be liable for a duty of 77%, again unchanged from those announced previously.
