LATEST NEWS: Taiwanese major hikes June PVC offers to Asia

  • 26/05/2025 (09:39)
Following a two-week delay, a major Taiwanese producer has finally announced its June PVC offers to Asia, applying modest increases in line with most market expectations.

For June shipments, the producer raised its PVC K67-68 offers by $20/ton to $720/ton CIF India, by $10/ton to $710/ton CIF China, and by $10/ton to $670/ton FOB Taiwan. No volume discounts were offered.

The producer had rolled over prices for May after a prolonged downtrend. Although June marks the beginning of the monsoon season in India—typically a lull period for demand—the supplier opted for a price hike. Indian buyers had previously postponed purchases despite the high season, citing market uncertainties, weak demand, and tariff concerns related to the US. Many met their urgent needs through the local market, creating a sense of pent-up demand now.

Meanwhile, FOB offers from China posted slight gains last week amid a mild improvement in sentiment driven by the US-China trade truce. Firmer freight rates have also lent additional cost support.
