LDPE production from UAE’s Borouge 3 enters the market

Players in the Turkish market report that LDPE film offers from Borouge’s new Borouge 3 plant have begun to surface in the market. Operations at the Borouge 3 complex began in June 2014 with the start up of the facility’s cracker with the various downstream units coming on-line in stages. The complex has total capacities of 1.5 million tons/year of ethylene, 1.08 million tons/year of PE, 960,000 tons/year of PP and 350,000 tons/year of LDPE.
The new LDPE line will reportedly shift to production of specialty grades within the near future and most of the production from the plant will take the form of specialty grades of LDPE for use in the cable and wiring industries.
