Rakha Al-Khaleej International (RAI) was established in 1990 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates to market, distribute and trade in plastic raw materials and additives. The company has grown as a major distribution firm covering its local market of the UAE, plus the Middle East region, Africa and Asia. It has branch offices across the Emirates, Asia and Africa.

RAI provides its customers with logistics, technical support, and distribution services.

Its international logistics team will liaise with the client for all their financial arrangements, work with the suppliers to ensure timely shipments, assure documentation is in accordance with the client’s requirements, charter vessels or barges when necessary. The team also has a fully integrated tracking system which can be monitored by the customer 24 hours a day through the company’s web site.

The technical support team can offer 24 hour technical support, on-site training, product testing and quality assurance, free consultation and samples, assistance in developing new product formulations, and conduct trials for modified or new grades and provide feedback to the producers.

The distribution services are supported by warehousing facilities which are located at different locations in the markets they serve. These facilities provide a buffer stock for customers in case of shipment delays, they can meet urgent orders for large clients, they ensure prompt deliveries and act as support for local customers and the needs of small converters.

The company sales volume per annum is approximately 400,000 tons, which consists of;

  • PE 35%
  • PP 30%
  • OTHERS 35%


Supply Sources

RAI sources its polymers from major producers in the Middle East, Far East, Europe and Asia.

RAI is the sole authorized distributor for EQUATE Petrochemical Co. of Kuwait for their range of polyethylene products for UAE, Oman & Yemen markets and for Petrochemical Industries Co. (P.I.C.) of Kuwait for their polypropylene products for UAE and Oman markets.

They also represent Supreme Petrochem Ltd. of India for Polystyrene products and The Polyolefin Co. (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. for LDPE in the Gulf countries making up the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Members making up the GCC include Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

They also market PVC resins from Thai Petrochemical Co (Thailand).
Expansion Plans

The company says that as they reach new levels of success, their expansion plans always include expanding geographically by establishing new regional offices in order to be next to clients in their home markets.
